The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has joined the globe in celebrating the World Diabetes Day, with a special event titled “Let us Prevent Diabetes Before It Starts”, in line with its keenness to raise community awareness about the impact of the disease on the quality of life and highlight the important role of prevention in combating the disease.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, a Mubadala Health partner, walked off with two major wins in the “International Hospital Federation” (IHF) Awards 2022. The winning categories included the Dr. Kwang Tae Kim Grand Hospital Award, which is the highest honor for an individual hospital that demonstrates excellence in five categories including health service quality, patient experience and workforce well-being, and the Ashikaga-Nikken Excellence Award for Green Hospitals, which recognizes hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Enhancing community outreach and ensuring that quality healthcare is delivered to the doorstep of the population, RAK Hospital, in a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Northern Emirates, has announced the launch of ‘RAK Hospital on Wheels’. 

In conjunction with ‘Pink October’ (International Breast Cancer Awareness Month), Sharjah Asset Management, investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, in cooperation with the Pink Caravan, launched an awareness campaign for its employees, to raise awareness for breast cancer and the importance of early screening for prevention.

Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani, Secretary General of the National Institute of Health Specialties, based at the United Arab Emirates University, participated in a workshop to roadmap the implementation of the National Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery 2022 – 2026. The workshop was organized by the National Committee for Nursing and Midwifery Affairs of the Ministry of Health and Prevention in Dubai and included national stakeholders from the regulatory, service, and academic sectors.

For the third consecutive year, Procter & Gamble (P&G) has partnered with Choithrams and Zulekha Healthcare Group for the ‘Pink it Now’ campaign as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. In its 11th edition this year, Pink it Now is dedicated to increasing awareness of the disease, promoting screening and early detection under the theme “Bolder and Stronger Together”.
